My Story
I am a Black woman physician and artist who suffered from severe burnout working as a primary care doctor. In an effort to save my life and to heal, I left clinical practice in 2021 and decided to pursue a path of being a healer through my art. Lib Lune Creations, founded in 2021, was born from my journey of personal healing, self discovery, and self acceptance in the midst and aftermath of burnout. Lib Lune Creations is a celebration of the intersection I created between my art and love of nature that saved my life.
About the Artist
Hi, my name is Dr. Robin D. Collin! Lib Lune Creations, founded November 2021, is my business where I share the range of my artistic products, including nature photography and digital drawings, paintings, and collages for the purpose of supporting people in their journeys of healing from physical or psychological stress and illness.
WHATS IN THE NAME? “Lib” means “free” in Haitian Kreyol and “Lune” means “moon” in French. I am child of Haitian immigrants and come from a family of artists, creators, and healers. I have always found creating art to be freeing to my soul. As a creative and imaginative child, I was prone to daydream and always drawn to nature, particularly to the moon. As a result, my mom would often say to me in Kreyol, “Tet ou nan la lune!” which literally means “your mind is always is on the moon”. She was right, I was and am a dreamer. I hope to channel that creative and visionary energy in this new career path as a physician photographer and artist, thus Lib Lune Creations.
HOW and WHY DID I BECOME A PHYSICIAN PHOTOGRAPHER? I am a former practicing double board certified Pediatrician and Internist who after suffering from burnout pivoted into being a healer through my art. I am a primarily self taught nature photographer and digital artist currently based in North Carolina’s Research Triangle, but first and foremost, am a proud native of Newark, NJ. I started my business, Lib Lune Creations, with the goal of providing my original, love centered artwork to healthcare delivery spaces, like hospitals and clinics, along with other stressful workplaces. My soothing artwork is created to support the healing and well being of viewers dealing with immense mental stress and burnout, particularly patients and healthcare providers from marginalized backgrounds. Through my art I attempt to harness the healing power of nature for the benefit of people that are most marginalized in our society and in the American healthcare system.
At the intersection of being a Black woman physician, patient, and artist, I am keenly aware of how important the design and appearance of healthcare spaces are to patients’ feeling welcomed, safe, and respected. My vibrant artwork not only energizes spaces, but my lens as a Black woman, physician artist gives my art a relatable and caring perspective that sets a tone of compassion and respect in healthcare environments where BIPOC patients and healthcare providers, like me, often feel unseen and unheard.
MY ARTIST STORY I learned the basics of film and digital photography in college while taking introductory courses. I had a wonderful teacher who made the experience transformative for me. From there, I developed a relationship with photography as a vehicle of spiritual healing and self-care. I quickly discovered that the outdoors, particularly natural scenes were my place of comfort and joy. Over the years, nature photography through ritual, stress-relieving nature walks became how I processed both the ups and downs of my life, especially during my medical training. From that practice I amassed a collection of stunning photographs that are an expression of my spiritual and emotional healing and a reflection of my love for nature in all its form.
Currently, most of my nature photos are taken during my ritual nature walks and while forest bathing in North Carolina parks, trails, and historic sites. I use an old school Canon DSLR and my Iphone to capture my images. I do little post-editing on my photographs as that is my stylistic preference to maintain certain elements of the original view. My abstract digital collages, pattern designs, paintings, and drawings tie back to my roots as skilled illustrator and daydreamer. These digital graphic works are expressions of the synesthesia I experience when I encounter the beautiful sights and color palettes in nature or remember a fond moment of my past. At times my work will incorporate certain aspects of my personal life because nature and my art are a bridge to helping me understand and value so much in my life.
This new journey as a physician photographer and artist is an exploration and celebration of my authentic self. I hope that sharing my journey and the story behind my art can help others find their way to restorative healing, reflection, and joy in the midst of their stress and burnout.
My hope is to have my artwork decorate the walls of patient homes, healthcare offices, and healthcare facilities around world!
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.

Lib Lune Creations is a celebration of the intersection I created between my artwork and love of nature that saved my life in the midst of burnout. Each photograph and artistic piece that I offer is intimately created from a journey of healing, self-love, and self-acceptance. With each piece I am metaphorically sharing the emotions and lessons of transformative personal experiences that occurred because of or in relation to my adventures in nature. MISSION:
To provide compassionate, alternative healthcare to people of marginalized populations in a manner that is more authentic my unique skillset as an artist and doctor. I intend to lovingly support this population’s holistic health and well-being by providing healthcare organizations and the public access to my original and therapeutic artistic works to be cherished and engaged with in personal spaces and healthcare delivery spaces, and to be gifted to patients at various stages of their healthcare journeys.
VISION:
To be an instrumental piece in the movement to eradicate medical racism and normalize compassionate care in America by making healthcare spaces visually and spiritually welcoming for BIPOC patients through the display and celebration of the visual artwork of BIPOC artists. The artwork of BIPOC artist can be and should be championed as vehicles of healing in healthcare institutions.
