Abstract

Whenever I’m in an environment I will naturally latch onto visuals that pull my lens away from the obviously beautiful and focus on the unexpected treasures that are present. This approach is pretty evident in all my photos but there are a set of photos, which I consider to be more abstract, where I really lean into those visuals. I particularly enjoy playing with darkness and blur. My internal artistic compass tends to have me searching for what else is present in the environment that I wouldn’t expect.

Tip: Enjoy the quirkiness around you and if something different catches your eye, snap a pic! It can be soothing and fun to find some joy in the unexpected things you see.
